The percentage of mortgage payments that were 30 or more days past due for all loans surveyed climbed to 4.44 percent in the July-to-September quarter, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported Wednesday in its quarterly survey of mortgage conditions."

Star-Telegram | 12/16/2005 | Foreclosures continue to climb: "The number of Tarrant County homeowners in financial trouble continues to spiral upward, with no end in sight.There are 899 Tarrant County homes posted for the January foreclosure sale, up 5.9 percent from the 849 postings a year ago, according to figures from the Foreclosure Listing Service. The Addison firm compiles a list of foreclosed properties each month.The numbers are high and they don't appear to be coming down, said Jim Brown, who runs All-American Title Co. in North Richland Hills, which has been compiling a foreclosure list for more than 30 years."

'It started about five years ago,' said Prather of the empty houses scattered across his Ludlow Avenue neighborhood.

'Some of them sit there forever and fall apart. People throw trash all around them. They get boarded up, but people just break into them. It's depreciating my property value terribly.' "
