USATODAY.com - Home price surge may be leveling off

USATODAY.com - Home price surge may be leveling off: "Home prices in the fourth quarter of 2005 posted double-digit increases in 72 metro areas a record number that likely marked a high point in this real estate cycle, the National Association of Realtors said Wednesday.
Nationwide, the median sales price for an existing single-family house rose to $213,000 in the fourth quarter, up 13.6% from the October-December period of 2004. But David Lereah, the NAR's chief economist, cautioned that the market is rapidly cooling."
